AFA’s mission it to support patients affected by amyloidosis. Our caring group of volunteers understands the hardships you face and hopes to help you through our Volunteer Services Program and Patient Financial Aid Program.

Patient Financial Aid Program

Action for Amyloidosis’ Financial Aid Program assists amyloidosis patients with their treatment-related financial needs. Applicants may apply every six months. The maximum grant per application is $500 per six-month period. Currently, the average grant award is $250.


  • Applicants must be currently undergoing treatment for Amyloidosis.
  • Applicants must live in Colorado.

Application Process:

  • Patients must fill out the Financial Aid Application and have their physician sign the form.
  • Applicants will be notified about their award status within four weeks of receiving all documentation.
  • Checks will be made payable to the patient and mailed to their home address.
  • Grant sizes and how often a patient can be assisted is determined by the availability of AFA funds.
